Winter Wonderland Omagh 2021: What You Need To Know

Winter Wonderland makes its debut in Omagh for the first time ever this year!

Omagh is set to host its first-ever ‘Winter Wonderland’ including an ‘Omagh Eye’ Ferris wheel, amusement park, and lots of fun activities for all the family. Christmas will be extra special this year around the region. This spectacular event is being sponsored by broadband connectivity provider Fibrus as well as the Omagh District Council.

Here’s what you need to know about this brand new event:

Where and when is it?

The ‘Omagh Winter Wonderland’ event will run from December 3rd until January 2nd at O’Neils Healy Park in the Co. Tyrone town. The first of its kind in the region, Omagh’s Winter Wonderland, has already attracted interest from many families near and far who are excited to meet the big man, Santa Claus, himself in this special location.

What attractions can we expect?

One of their star attraction is the ‘Omagh Eye’ – A 36-metre-high Ferris wheel, which is the biggest of its kind apart from London. There will also be a buzzing amusement park and festive Christmas market showcasing lots of local craftsmen.

What would a Winter event be without a good ol’ brew and live music? The organising team has confirmed a beer tent, lots of food stalls, live-stage performances, and several other surprise attractions over this month.

For families, you can expect to see Santa’s Grotto up and running.

Conor Sally, director of Omagh Winter Wonderland, outlined their aims: “We are delighted that Fibrus have come on board with Fermanagh and Omagh District Council and the national lottery to bring something really special to the West indeed it is a first for the area. Between our stalls, Santa’s trail, amusements, beer tent, and live stage we will have something for everyone on their own doorsteps, and of course it’s here for a month so they can come back again and again, I know the ‘Omagh Eye’ will be a real experience.”

While the Omagh Eye, one of the largest in the nation, will be a major draw in December, the Santa trail, which will feature real reindeer and elves as well as unique lighting provided by local business Galaxy, is sure to delight children and their families in the lead-up to the big day itself.
