It has its own playground and is just a five-minute walk away from Belfast Zoo. It’s a large park featuring walking paths and orienteering courses, as well as its own playground.
Belfast Castle, as well as the 19th century, is a stone cairn and crannóg in the park. McArt’s Fort, a mediaeval stone fort situated 1,200 feet (368 metres) above sea level atop Napoleon’s Nose’s basaltic cliff, is perhaps the most beautiful sight! The silhouette of Cave Hill is said to resemble a sleeping giant protecting Belfast, and it inspired Jonathan Swift to create Gulliver in Gulliver’s Travels.
