Loughgall is significant in the history of the Orange Institution, which was established in 1795 in the aftermath of the Battle of the Diamond.
The Museum at Sloan’s House has an amazing collection of documents relating to the Orange Order’s beginnings, including some of the first warrants issued. The site also chronicles the history of the Plantation and the surrounding Loughgall area, dating back to 1795.
The site also includes Sloan’s Parlour, which is shown as it would have been during the construction of the Orange. The storey is presented via images, audio visual technologies, and the display of significant artefacts in The Parlour.
A permanent exhibition space, a café, and research facilities are also available at Sloan’s House.
