A wooded riverside estate and a haunting Irish gentry residence
In the 1820s, Arthur and John Williamson of Dublin designed the Argory for the MacGeough Bond family. The house was built as a consequence of an unusual demand in a will. Since 1900, the inside of this simple and tiny house, constructed of Caledon stone and Navan limestone foundations and window sills, has remained unchanged. Taking a look inside this Neo-classical masterpiece reveals the family’s varied tastes and interests.
Outside of this Neo-classical treasure, there is a lot more to explore. The grounds include panoramic vistas, lovely pathways, and a rose garden with an eye-catching sundial. Before relaxing with a great dinner at The Courtyard Cafe, explore the adventure playground.
