Castle Museums are clearly marked within Enniskillen Castle Barracks, which overlooks the River Erne.
Enniskillen is the only town in the United Kingdom with two regiments named after it, and this museum has a large regimental collection that recounts the storey of their history. The Royal Inniskilling Fusiliers (Colonel Zachariah Tiffin’s Regiment, subsequently the 27th (Inniskilling) Regiment of Foot) were established in 1688-89, and their storey is told until their merger in 1968, and beyond, to its successor, The Royal Irish Regiment.
