Set in the stately home of Lord and Lady Masserene in Antrim Castle Gardens, socialite beauty Lady Jean Masserene awaits the arrival of her close confidante, Sir Edward Carson. Eavesdropping and navigating their own relationships are her mystical companion Evan Morgan, and household servants Ethel Gillingham and Thomas Ballentine, two young lovers from across the political divide whose lives and fortunes intertwine against the backdrop of some of the most remarkable political developments in a momentous and turbulent period of Irish history.
Based on real-life events between 1914-21, ‘Carson and the Lady’ exudes drama, political tension, comedy and tragedy, with a shocking dramatic conclusion.
