Open House is more than just a Festival. They organise a month long music & arts Festival, a Vintage themed free Festival, will soon open our own multi-purpose venue and also organise one off gigs in Belfast & Bangor all year round.
At the heart of the August Festival is an eclectic programme of lovingly curated bespoke events, including folk on a boat, an island picnic trip, pop-up restaurants, local interest talks and tours alongside a run of shows in the beautiful Bangor Castle Walled Garden which include music, theatre, comedy, spoken word and film.
The events in the Walled Garden all take place under a beautifully lit stretch tent, providing an outdoor garden experience but with protection from the elements. There is also free music every Sunday throughout August (and July) in Ward Park from 3-5pm where you are welcome to bring a rug and picnic and relax for the afternoon.
Many of the events are train friendly i.e they finish in time for the last train back towards Belfast. Events taking place in the Walled Garden will be indicated by ‘train friendly’ on the ticket page.
